We don’t need no Education!

Oh yes, we do!

Jo is a highly experienced and well-qualified teacher of English Language and English Literature, having worked in a number of settings over a twenty-year career. With almost eighteen years assessment experience, Jo has served as a Principal Examiner for GCSE English/English Language for one of the U.K. biggest and most popular examination boards. She is a writer of highly successful textbooks and study guides. And she asked me to do her brand and produce her business cards, how could I say no. x

Home Spa!

I felt like Christmas had come early when this lush package of spa treatments arrived this morning at the office. I can’t wait to head home for a pamper session. Thanks to the lovely Kate at #TempleSpa, and Kate did a great video to help me apply the products correctly to control my #rosacea.

High-5 to ParentPreneur Networking

Networking isn’t for everyone, it can be very daunting walking into a room full of strangers. Thats why I choose my network events very carefully. When I discovered ‘ParentPreneur Networking’ I just knew it was right up my street. This networking event was hosted by the very bubbly Kate who made me feel very welcomed. There was a good gender mix and it was very heartwarming to listen from both Dads and Mums how becoming a Parent had touched and changed  their careers in terms of achieving ‘work-life-balance’. The venue was at ‘Platform 5’ which served the most delicious cappuccino I’ve had in long time. Dave from ‘Impact’ gave an informative talk on gaining more facebook likes. So overall it was a great bit of inclusive networking – roll on the next meet-up.

It was a very inspiring evening at this @GirlsinTechNW event to highlight the issue ‘Why we don’t have more women on techie roles?’. The speakers@MadewithGlove @OutciderMedia @GillTwistRec were very informative, and gave shocking stats and accounts of sexist comments endured. A very lively Q&A rounded off and insightful and enjoyable evening.

Inspiring the Next Generation

So today I went back to high school – gulp! I was taking part in a mentoring event for 12-14 year old girls. So about 30 women from different sectors aimed to inspire about 100 girls – eak! But if just one girl takes away one little nugget of advice then we did a good job.

An insight into Social Media Marketing

I attended a very informative session on ‘social marketing’ this morning presented by two of Handbags and Briefcases Networking committee members; Suzi of Smart Bear Creative and Collette of Assist Marketing — at Benchill Enterprise Centre. #WomeninBusiness
